‘Comic Helvetic’ Is The Polarizing Secret Baby Of Two Well-Known Typefaces

Many celebrities make babies, and some of those kids aren’t as far into the spotlight as others. In the world of typography, there are Comic Sans and Helvetica and their illegitimate love child ‘Comic Helvetic’.
For nearly two years, the cute yet jarring font has largely stayed under the radar—that was until recently, when Print discovered it and profiled the font.
‘Comic Helvetic’, created by graphic designer Alexander Pravdin, combines the best of two typefaces people love to abhor, inheriting the childlike qualities of Comic Sans and the uniformity of Helvetica.

Don’t be too eager to hate it. If anything, blame its upbringing.
Amusingly, the designer says ‘Comic Helvetic’ is best paired with its more serious parent.
