Samsung Debuts Earth Day Accessories Collection Made From Sustainable Materials
As we celebrate Earth Day on Friday, April 22, Samsung has released a new line of limited-edition, sustainably-designed accessories for users to showcase their love and appreciation for our planet.
Collaborating with plant-based designer Sean Wotherspoon, the Sustainable Accessories Collection offers three cases for the Galaxy S21 and three accompanying watchbands for the Galaxy Watch4 series, which will come with complimentary watchfaces to match.
All of the cases and bands were made using 100% recyclable and biodegradable materials, with the vegan designer keen to raise awareness on our planet’s climate crisis through his fun, vibrant products.
“From the start, it was clear that we were aligned on our commitment to sustainability and finding real eco-conscious solutions people can use in their everyday lives,” said Wotherspoon.
“The collection is a simple, yet powerful way for people to show their support of the planet timed to Earth Day,” he added.
To create the designs, Wotherspoon drew inspiration from the beauty of Mother Earth, his hobbies, and things that made him smile, such as his son’s love of dinosaurs, or the flowers growing in his garden.
Each of the Galaxy S21 phone cases were crafted from 100% recycled TPU materials, are fully biodegradable, and safe for the environment; while the watchbands comprise the same non-toxic TPU material, are non-plasticized, and can be recycled once they’re no longer in use.
Available in pastel green, yellow, and bright pink, the collection will be available on the NTWRK app for US$49.99.
