If there’s anyone who knows about activewear, it’s seven-time Olympic medalist Simone Biles. For the first time, the decorated gymnast is launching a limited line of outfits for young girls aged six to 12 as part of a collaboration with popular athleisure brand Athleta.

Biles told Essence that she felt young girls in this specific age range needed more support, as it’s a “vulnerable time” in their lives. She hopes her collection will give them more confidence, especially in the era of social media and non-stop advertisements.

In total, the collection features 16 different pieces as part of the brand’s Athleta Girl label, including a sports bra, shorts, sweatshirts, scrunchies, and even an adorable duffle bag. The clothes and accessories will range from US$15 to US$95.

Going forward, Athleta plans on working with Biles on more capsule collections to “bring a piece of her to girls everywhere.”

“My inspiration behind this collection was to create clothing that is both cute and comfy and can be worn from school to practice while uplifting girls and encouraging them to chase their dreams,” said Biles.

“It has been a longtime dream of mine to create an athletic line, and the opportunity to design this collection for Athleta Girl is so special to me. I want girls to feel inspired when they wear clothing in this collection, and for them to know that they can do anything they put their minds to.”
