If you frequent the Instagram pages of some creators, you’d have seen the myriad Stories they’ve pinned at the top of their profiles, allowing fans to view highlights even after the actual post has expired.
Now, the social network is trialing a way for users to pin particular posts on their feeds, so content can stand out when others visit their profiles.
According to TechCrunch, reverse engineer Alessandro Paluzzi spotted this feature in January, pointing out that the function would work similarly to Twitter’s ‘pin to your profile’ button that allows users to clip a tweet to the top of their feed.
This new test comes just a week after Instagram said it was removing the ‘Recent’ tab on hashtag searches for selected accounts as part of another trial, with the users involved only seeing ‘Top’ and ‘Reels’ when they click on a hashtag.
Seeing as how Twitter and TikTok have both allowed users to pin content on their feeds, it isn’t all too surprising that Instagram is following suit, and could prove to be a much more convenient function for users worldwide who want their followers to have easier access to special posts.
