If you’re someone who loves an adventure while on holiday, the world’s longest suspension footbridge—which is slated to open next month—could be the destination for you.
Located at the Doní Morava resort in East Bohemia, Czech Republic, the precarious Sky Bridge 721 straddles the valley between the Jeseniky Mountains, and offers a stunning view of the Mlynsky stream just underneath your feet.
According to Time Out, the current record holder is the Arouca 516 in Portugal, which spans 516 meters (1,692 feet). However, it’s been argued that unofficially, the 567-meter-long (1,860-feet-long) Baglung Parbat Footbridge in Nepal should be bestowed the honor.
Nonetheless, when the new footbridge opens its doors to visitors soon, it’ll far surpass these two marvels with a jaw-dropping 721-meter-long (2,365-feet-long) challenge.
As Traveller pointed out, the suspension bridge isn’t the most sturdy-looking, made just out of a 1.2-meter-wide (3.94-feet-wide) metal, rope, and concrete trail. So don’t look down.
Atop the bridge, tourists will be invited to participate in ‘The Bridge of Time’, a two-kilometer (1.24-mile) walk that makes use of augmented reality games to impart knowledge about the local surroundings’ scenery and history.
