Apple Makes AirTag Alerts Louder As Part Of Anti-Stalking Efforts
In February, Apple announced it would be adding several new features to AirTags to warn users when the gadget is potentially being used to track them, in an effort to dissuade bad actors from using the device to stalk unsuspecting victims.
Now, one of the changes is finally making its way to the AirTag, with a recent update now causing the gadget to emit the loudest possible sound to make it as easy to find as possible.
According to MacRumors, while the feature is being rolled out this week, only 1% of owners have received it due to a staggered release. It should be available to all users by May 13.
In order to ensure your AirTag has successfully been updated, Mobile Syrup suggests heading to the ‘Find My’ app on your iPhone, selecting the device, and then matching the firmware number to the latest update of 1A303 (firmware version 1.0.301).
