Reebok Releases Its First Adaptive Footwear For Users With Physical Disabilities

In partnership with Zappos Adaptive, sportswear brand Reebok has come up with its first accessible footwear collection, Fit to Fit, which is designed to improve the performance and lifestyle of individuals with disabilities. 

Building upon the brand’s design heritage and distinct silhouettes, the capsule aims to “enhance quality of life for everyone,” by offering new options in the market that are functional, but don’t compromise on style.

The collection comprises six sneakers, three colors in two different silhouettes. First, the Club MEMT Parafit (US$65) is an everyday shoe with a classic design and emphasis on comfort. It features a leather and mesh upper for better ventilation and extra support, with Memory Tech embedded in the padded sicklier for a cushiony feel. 

Next, the Nanoflex Parafit TR (US$90) is a pair that’ll be able to take you from a workout to the weekend, and is an alternative for people who require sneakers that can be put on and taken off easily via its innovative zip closure. With a breathable mesh upper that’s lightweight, the shoe comes with a cushioned collar and tongue, and forefront grooves for additional flexibility.

According to Input, the sneakers are in unisex sizing and can be bought either in a pair or as a single shoe, enabling individuals with amputated legs to make a purchase without having to get both sides.

As described by the label, “each model within the collection offers enhanced features to help people with disabilities gain more independence in whatever they do.”
