New High-Speed Train Will Soon Connect Paris And Berlin Without Transfers

For those traveling across Europe, the trip between Paris and Berlin will soon be cut down to just seven hours, thanks to a new high-speed train line scheduled to begin operations next year. 

According to a joint statement, the project is a collaboration between two train operators, Germany’s Deutsche Bahn and France’s SNCF, and will finally offer residents and tourists the option of a direct route between the two cities. 

A one-way trip currently includes at least one transfer, and can take over eight hours to complete, so the new no-stop journey will certainly be a much quicker and more convenient way to get across. 

Euronews reported that initially, the train will run one return trip per day, though there are plans in place to add a second daily round trip in the future with the addition of French TGV trains. 

While the train’s cabins are unlikely to be all that luxurious, Robb Report noted that it will come up free wifi, power sockets to charge your gadgets, and food service directly to your seat—not bad at all!

Ready to hop onboard? The new train is scheduled to debut by the end of 2023.
