Razer Announces World’s First Gaming Mice Certified With An ‘ECOLOGO’

The green accents on Razer’s products have taken on a new meaning. The consumer electronics brand has just confirmed the Basilisk V3 and DeathAdder Essential—two of its best gaming mice—to be the first gaming mice in the world to be awarded with an ‘ECOLOGO’ certification by safety standards organizer UL.
The mice, selected by Razer to be authenticated for their presence on “any gamer’s battle station due to their speed, customizability, and comfort,” were examined for their energy use, extension of useful life, how they can be disassembled and recycled at their end of life, their packaging, as well as Razer’s corporate and manufacturing practices. At the end of the evaluation, the Razer mice were granted with a bronze certification.
The packaging itself is constructed from FSC-certified materials and does not contain metals and chlorine. It’s printed with soy ink to enable easily recycling, says the firm.
The gadgets comply with the European Union’s regulations for hazardous chemicals and restricted substances, and were assessed for their compatibility with sensitive skin.
In its review, UL also noted that Razer’s facilities adopt practices deemed more environmentally responsible.
“Razer is committed to going the extra mile to make greener products while empowering consumers with knowledge to make more informed choices,” says Razer.
The ECOLOGO will only appear on packaging later in the year, but “all current users can rejoice knowing their mice are sustainably-made,” the company reassures.
