LEGO Unveils 3,756-Piece Roller Coaster Set With Full Loops & A Crazy Tower Drop
If you’re a seasoned LEGO fan, you’d know the toymaker has offered over 10 roller coaster sets in its history. But this time, it’s come out with one of its largest sets yet: a 3,756-piece Loop Coaster that features the first gravity-powered ride.
Rather impressively, after you’ve done assembling the pieces, you’ll be able to launch minifig riders through two complete, fully-inverted loops on the coaster, propelled by the momentum from a 36-inch-tall tower—complete with an elevator that gets riders to the top quickly.
The box will come with one train and a boarding station, on which you can open and close barriers to welcome guests before lowering the metal bars to secure them safely into the roller coaster cars before takeoff.
With 11 minifigs and additional fairground details, including a park bench, balloon cart, pretzel cart, hot-dog stand, height marker, and control panel, there’s plenty to fuel your imagination for the theme park ride.
According to Gizmodo, the elevator will require you to manually crank it to work, but LEGO will provide motorized upgrades (sold separately) to the set, though it’s still unclear if this display will be able to run by itself without any input.
