Need inspiration for a project? Head to Pinterest. The site, which bills itself as an “inspiration to realization” platform, has announced it’s teaming up with media company Tastemade for a first-of-its-kind strategic partnership that will involve scaling the platform’s creators, creating a new content series, and introducing live streaming.
It isn’t a surprise the two have decided to partner up, considering Tastemade is already one of the largest video partners on Pinterest globally. In fact, the firm’s pins drive 200% more saves than the average post on the site.
The project will see the duo produce 50 new shows in at least eight different languages, which will debut exclusively on Pinterest via its content franchises and its video platform, Idea Pins. While Tastemade is known for its features on food, travel, and design categories, it will now be expanding its programming to include other interests, such as beauty, fashion, pets, and wellness.
Additionally, there will be hundreds of hours of new live streaming programs coming to Pinterest TV, which the project hopes will increase viewership, drive repeat viewers, and even test shopping behaviors on the platform.
While the social media site has typically focused on “rising stars” and “homegrown creators,” the new partnership could see its native-first content approach boosted by collaborations with “premium content creators.”
“Consumers have undeniably embraced video as the preferred content medium, and one that is especially powerful in inspiring consumers to take action to create a life they love,” said Larry Fitzgibbon, Tastemade co-founder.
“The biggest trends in media are now in video, creators, and live streaming—and this partnership addresses all three at global scale. We have a long track record of deeply engaging the Pinterest audience and are excited to take even more Pinners from inspiration to realization through video storytelling,” he added.
