Ferrari Reveals First-Ever SUV Is Arriving This Year, Followed By Its First EV

With the tide turning towards electric vehicles, luxury automakers don’t want to be left behind.

As such, Ferrari has recently announced it will be debuting its first EV by 2025, and plans to take the entire company carbon-neutral by the end of the decade.

At the company’s Capital Markets Day this week, CEO Benedetto Vigna said that the brand’s first battery supercar will determine its tone for future launches.

In addition, the carmaker shared that its first-ever SUV, the Purosangue, will be unveiled in September.

Bloomberg reported the firm will invest US$4.6 billion to develop its electric and plug-in hybrid models, with hopes that these will constitute 60% of its sales by 2026. 

By 2030, it expects 80% of its sales will come from these sustainable alternatives, instead of the usual gas-guzzling luxury cars. 

According to TechCrunch, Vigna confirmed that its future EVs will be constructed in the same Maranello facility, with the company taking care to maintain its exclusivity by delivering “one car less than the market demands.” 

The forthcoming SUV, on the other hand, will be available early next year for approximately US$300,000.
