Citroën Debuts Door-Free Beach Buggy For Carefree, Electric Rides By The Seaside
After the success of Citroën’s My Ami Buggy last December, a summer version of the buggy is coming to market for a limited time only. In the style of a golf cart, the new My Ami EV is a doorless version of the electric buggy.
Feel as free as the summer air as you head on down to the beach with the breeze and the sounds of summer echoing through the car as you zip on down. Styled in khaki and just two grilles to tuck the driver and passenger safely inside, it’s a fun and novel way to get around this summer.
The interior has the classic Citroën Ami colorful lining, this time in yellow, and fitted with gold rims on its 14-inch wheels. The tiny, head-turning car also comes with a sunroof so you’ll never have to worry about having to top up your tan.
These micro-cars have been classed as quadricycles under the EU and, as such, the My Ami will only run at a top speed of 28 mph—just enough to rush down to the beach to catch the best spot to lay your towel or for navigating around little coastal towns.
However, only 50 of these buggies will be sold starting June 21 on Citroën’s website. If you do get your hands on one, you’ll be the talk of the town. Or of the beach.
