Macy’s Is Giving Out 10,000 Free Fireworks (As NFTs) To Celebrate Fourth of July

Macy’s iconic Fourth of July fireworks display is embarking onto the internet in the form of non-fungible tokens. In the spirit of Independence Day, 10,000 of these NFTs will be given out for free.

To mark the pyrotechnic display Macy’s is known for, the digital collectibles will be in the form of the classic fireworks. They’ll be available on a first-come-first-serve basis and at three tiers of rarities: Classic, Rare, and Ultra Rare. This year’s fireworks designs will also be reflected.

Besides owning the token, you can also view the artworks through various augmented-reality gear across various social media and video platforms. 

The department store is also broadening its social media horizons by opening a Discord channel where fans of the brand will have to register in order to claim the collectibles. The release of the tokens is on a first come first serve basis. 

More and more brands are branching into NFTs and the metaverse. Macy’s expansion into this sphere, as well as Discord, is one of its ways to catch up and uphold relevance with a new audience.
