Fans of ketchup, here’s your time to shine. French’s has announced it will be debuting the ‘Frenchsicle’, a limited-edition ketchup-flavored popsicle just in time for the sweltering summer.
As unlikely as “ketchup-flavored popsicle” may sound, it’s the real deal, with the brand collaborating with Happy Pops, a local Canadian company that specializes in creating all-natural ice pops from real fruit.
Described as “perfectly balanced with a hint of salty sweetness,” the special treat is made from 100% Canadian tomatoes, only sweetened with organic cane sugar.
According to a French’s survey, 79% of Canadians indicated they liked or loved ketchup, though it’s unclear if that same love will translate into masses queuing up to get their ‘Frenchsicle’ fix.
If you’re one of the brave ones, the popsicle will be available at pop ups in Vancouver, Toronto, and Leamington till June 24. Every treat given away will be matched with two meal donations to Food Banks Canada.
