Old Spice Hijacks Arby’s Campaign To Look At Meat Sweats, Then Look At A Fix
Arby’s and Old Spice have produced a rather left-field advertisement on defending against meat sweats. With a Meat Sweat Defense Kit, ready to be armed by the most ardent of meat and Arby’s lovers, you can rest assured that you’ll never suffer from the horrors of sweating while eating meat ever again.
Ultimeat Dreams, the advertisement produced to announce the collaboration, sees Isaiah Mustafa–the famous face of Old Spice–climbing a mountain of Arby’s Half Pound Roast Beef Sandwich before he is interrupted by the thunderous voice of Vinge Rhames accusing him of breaking into the Arby’s commercial. He then falls off the mountainous burger and lands on a horse. A horsey sauce that is.
To kick off the launch, the Old Spice Guy made his way down to the streets of New York in a van decked out with the brands’ logos and a new slogan, ‘Don’t Sweat the Meat Sweats’, as he handed out Arby’s gift cards to the unsuspecting passersby.
The clever spot was directed by Wieden+Kennedy and Fallon.
Fans of the brands can get the Defense Kits, which consist of Old Spice Sweat Defense Spray and a sweatsuit with beef prints, on Arby’s online store.
We interrupt this @Arbys commercial to provide an update on the future of meat sweats.
