Apple Brings Back First iPhone’s Rejected Wallpaper For Modern Smartphones

The iPhone has come a long way since Steve Jobs first introduced the revolutionary gadget in 2007. Now, Apple is throwing back to its early days by recovering an iconic wallpaper made for the first-gen model and putting it in future iOS 16-enabled phones.

Apple’s clownfish wallpaper has been sighted by a select few iOS 16 beta 3 testers, including Twitter user @JackLRoberts, who found the option in his settings.

The photo first waded into the public’s vision at Apple’s keynote in 2007, where Jobs unveiled the original iPhone. 

However, when the iPhone was finally released, the wallpaper didn’t come with the phone. Well, until now, that is.

15 years after the debut of the iPhone, it seems like Apple users are finally being given the first official wallpaper. The background has been a source of nostalgia for Apple fans, drawing back to the first sparks of enthusiasm when the groundbreaking smartphone was first introduced.

The wallpaper is not currently available to everyone in the beta phases of testing, but this is a great indication that the official launch of iOS 16 would see the clownfish finally swimming back to the iPhone.
