Carbon Dioxide Can Be Clean Too, After Turning Into Bars Of Soap
It is no secret that carbon is a dirty word. With the rise of greenhouse gases, it has left companies, and the public alike, in a conundrum of how to cut emissions. One company is taking a creative and clean approach to removing CO2 emissions by turning it into soap.
CleanO2 has introduced a carbon capture bar soap that provides a bubbly alternative to carbon offsetting. CleanO2 has developed a device called CARBiN-X, which captures CO2 in the air and turns it into something else. In this case, it gets turned into pearl ash. Pearl ash, or potassium carbonate, is commonly used in soaps and glass.
CleanO2’s CARBiN-X machine can be installed in any building that is heated with natural gas. It is the first fully commercialized carbon capture device that was designed for heating in commercial and residential areas. Through its system, turns the carbon emissions into a cleaner compound, pearl ash. The ingredient turns into a sudsy lather when made into a block of soap.
Besides pearl ash, other ingredients such as botanical oils, coconut milk, activated charcoal, and coffee are used in the production of the bar soaps. Once the soap is washed down the drain, it is fully biodegradable and will exert no harm on the environment.
