New Nokia Phone Opens Up To Double As A Wireless Earbud Case
Those of us who’ve switched to truly wireless earbuds know the struggle of having to remember to charge both our smartphones and earphone cases on the daily.
Now, Nokia has come up with an ingenious solution that allows you to do both at once, with the new Nokia 5710 XpressAudio that allows you to charge your earbuds within the phone.
At first, the retro-looking phone doesn’t look too dissimilar from classic Nokia 5310 model, but upon closer inspection, you’ll have a slide-down panel on the back that opens to reveal a pair of wireless earphones you can conveniently use on the go.
Audiophiles will be glad to hear that the device comes with a bigger battery and audio control keys, so you’ll never run out of juice to tune into your favorite tracks. Plus, with loud dual speakers, users will get to enjoy songs privately or together with friends out in the open.
Though, as Digital Trends points out, the earbuds that come with the phone aren’t exactly the most high-end, so they won’t have features such as active noise cancelation. Once removed from the charging case, the earphones will last about four hours of listening time, or two and a half hours of talk time.
The phone itself, which isn’t a smartphone, will run on Nokia’s S30+ software and is connected to 4G networks via an internal modem. With a 2.4-inch screen, you won’t be looking at much, but maybe it’ll be worth the trade-off for the 20-day-long battery life.
Nokia 5710 XpressAudio will launch alongside the Nokia 8210 4G and Nokia 2660 Flip.
