Following three years of absence, Tommy Hilfiger officially announced its return to New York Fashion Week (NYFW), with an “experiential runway event” that will unveil its ‘See Now, Buy Now’ Fall 2022 collection both physically and in the digital space.
According to thebrand, the event will be held at an in-person showcase at Skyline Drive-In in Brooklyn, while it’s simultaneously broadcasted in a “parallel metaverse activation” on gaming platform Roblox.
This is the first time a NYFW show will be live-streamed into the online community, which boasts an astonishing 50 million daily users, in addition to Tommy Hilfiger-clad avatars that will roam the virtual city of New York.
Each item shown in the actual show will be available to purchase right away, including digital iterations on the website so your online personas are just as fashionable as you are in real life.
“My heart immediately went to New York’s iconic creative culture when I thought about where to launch our return to fashion week,” explained Tommy Hilfiger.
“This season is all about the collision of my favorite archival inspirations with new live event concepts and virtual worlds. It’s the perfect expression of what we stand for as we pay homage to our roots with a return to NYFW.”
