The Chainsmokers Are Holding A Concert At The Edge Of Space

The Chainsmokers are gearing up for an out-of-this-world performance, literally. In 2024 the chart-topping duo will make the journey to the edge of space where they were holding what will be an astronomical performance.   

Drew Taggart and Alex Pall are partnering with World View, a space tourism company, to make that journey into the stratosphere. The Australian duo will be placed into a pressurized capsule that will be attached to a stratospheric balloon which will fly them up.   

The Chainsmokers are set to be the space travel company’s inaugural flight and will document the whole journey.   

Each World View balloon journey is said to take six to 12 hours and will reach an altitude of 100,000 feet. While it has some stiff competition against Virgin Galactic, Blue Origin, and SpaceX, World View is looking to differentiate itself in the space travel market by using music acts to inspire a different set of people to journey into space. Or at least to the edge of it.   

World View’s CEO Ryan Hartman told the Associated Press that the decision to choose Taggart and Pall came after he witnessed his son belt out the lyrics to one of their songs. After garnering an understanding of how influential The Chainsmokers have become, the company found there was no better music act to represent them.
