An unfortunate redesigning of an elementary school logo has sparked anger among parents, who have likened the emblem to the Nazi Eagle.
East Side Elementary School in Marietta, Georgia, announced a new logo depicting an eagle, the school’s mascot, with the school’s initials in a crest below it. However, the layout and design bore far too many similarities to the infamous hate symbol, prompting outrage on social media.
Presenting, from the district that last week approved armed personnel in schools who are designated by the superintendent, a new logo for a nearby elementary school.
East Side Elementary is located across the street from a Synagogue, which is an unfortunate and ironic twist to the story.
As reported by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Cobb County schools have been the site of a few antisemitic incidents in recent years. Graffiti with Nazi symbols were discovered in two high schools, and a middle school was chastised for using social media to spread antisemitic imagery.
A report from the Anti-Defamation League has cited that antisemitic events have doubled over the last two years in Georgia.
