Velveeta cheese is so velvety, the brand reckons it’ll go down smoothly in a cocktail. And that’s exactly what it has concocted, whether you like it or not.
For those who prefer their martinis shaken (up), you’re in luck. Velveeta’s version, called the ‘Veltini’, is infused with Velveeta cheese, with olive brine and vermouth balancing out the flavors of this unique vodka. The result is an “unapologetic, outrageously cheesy” experience, says the company.
“As we look to summer, one of life’s greatest pleasures is enjoying summer sips during golden hour,” says Kelsey Rice, Velveeta’s Senior Brand Communications Manager. “We wanted to find a way to elevate this experience for our fans even further, by bringing the rich, creamy goodness of Velveeta to a martini in a unique and unexpected way for the ultimate outrageous pleasure.”
To top it all off, the drink is garnished with Velveeta-filled olives and—wait for it—Velveeta shells and cheese. If that’s still too watered-down for you, you can slurp it all up with the extra cheese sauce dripping at the rim.
The liquefied shells and cheese are being served at select BLT steakhouses in New York; Washington, DC; Charlotte; and Chicago during golden hour—AKA 5 pm to 8 pm—for US$15.
If you’re more into mousing around at home, fret not. Velveeta has teamed up with Goldbelly to launch a home DIY cocktail kit for a limited time.
