KFC’s latest campaign doesn’t involve fried chicken, and yet it somehow runs fowl. The chain has created a horror short film that puts another fast-food favorite at the center: pizza.

Spanning 14 minutes long, KFC Spain’s The Massacre draws from B-horror movies of the 70s and 80s—notably amid the height of Stranger Things fanfare—and revives some common horror elements from the dead, like the cabin in the woods, monsters, jump scares, and gore.

Produced by creative agency PS21, with direction by filmmaker NYSU, it sets the stage for the brand’s new crustless pizza, the ‘Pollizza’, which uses fried chicken as its base. The menu item’s name, in fact, is an amalgamation of the Spanish words for chicken, pollo, and pizza.

The film follows a group of teens on their getaway at a cabin in the woods. Inside, the hungry friends order to have pizza delivered using a number from a poster they found in the house. It’s a decision gone awry, leading to their mysterious disappearance.

The cautionary tale against conventional pizzas is a roundabout way of telling patrons that they should still be able to enjoy the pies even if they don’t like the crust.

Also, you may want to screen this before watching it with the young ones, as the KFC film oddly contains expletives and adult references.
