Apple Is Reportedly Redesigning Watch Pro To Stand Out From Other Models

With Apple set to unveil its new range of Apple Watches in September, rumors on the forthcoming devices have been swirling for months, with a report previously revealing the technology giant will be launching a larger, more rugged model for athletes. 

Now, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, who had said the “rugged” Watch will be crafted out of stronger material for added protection, has confirmed that the gadget will come with a larger display, longer battery life, and a body-temperature sensor. 

In fact, this iteration for “extreme sports” could have such a powerful battery, Gurman believes it could run for multiple days after just one charge, with a rumored low-power mode said to be in the works. 

Design-wise, this may be the Apple Watch’s first major redesign since 2018. Gurman says the Watch Pro’s display could be “an evolution of the current rectangular shape, and not circular.”

Plus, the screen is said to be 7% larger than its predecessors, though it will not feature flat sides as once speculated. 

While health buffs can expect the Series 8 to come with a body-temperature sensor, Gurman notes that other sensors, including blood-pressure and glucose technology, will not be appearing on the device anytime soon.
