You Aren’t Hearing Things: Twitter Annoys Users With New Refresh Greeting
If you’re one to tweet your every move, you’d have noticed the blue bird application’s new greeting whenever you refresh your feed, generating a rather robotic-sounding ‘chirp’ each time.
It seems Twitter has recently introduced the feature to accounts all over the globe, with Gear Patrol noting that users will hear the sound by default unless their smartphones are on silent or vibrate mode.

Users have chimed in with humorous takes on the new tune, with one saying that it fooled him into thinking it was his stomach that made the noise, and another commenting it sounded like “an alien is nearby ready to do something scary.”
To switch the offending noise off for good, head to the ‘settings and privacy’ tab, followed by ‘accessibility, display, and languages’, where you can toggle off the ‘sound effects’ option under the ‘sound’ section.
