Pablo Picasso’s Art Studio Hideaway In The French Riviera Is Now On Sale

Tucked away on the picturesque coast of Cap D’Antibes, on the French Riviera, stands an opulent villa that was once used to harbor one of the most noted artists of recent history, Pablo Picasso.

During the summer of 1924, Picasso commandeered the garage and turned it into his own studio, where he also painted the walls of the salon and bedroom. Unfortunately, by summer’s end, he was made to pay for reparations for the “damages” he caused in the house, and the owner eventually covered the walls, according to the real estate agent in charge of the sale, Knight Frank.

The house itself is being claimed as one of the only true waterfront properties on the Riviera and is situated right on the edge of the coast.

The historic abode has eight bedrooms, seven bathrooms, its own dock, boat house, infinity pool, and, dramatically enough, its own tower.

However, Picasso wasn’t the only famous person to stay there. According to the listing, F. Scott Fitzgerald and other “American billionaires” have spent time at the coastal home over the years.

The house is currently being sold for a whopping €27 million (US$27.8 million).
