Louis Vuitton Releases $2,280 Ping Pong Set That Aims To Be Belle Of The Ball

Luxury fashion houses reliably dish out classics that withstand the test of time. There are, however, times when they go rogue with real head-scratchers, like when Louis Vuitton released a colored pencil set or ‘Flower Bouquet’ bag.

Now, it’s back with yet another peculiar offering, this time a ping pong set that’ll set you back US$2,280. 

Interestingly, this isn’t the first time the James Ping Pong Set has made an appearance in the Maison’s repertoire. It was first released in 2017 along with jump ropes, and later returned in 2019.

It appears the ultra-luxurious sports set has undergone its latest transformation, with the paddles crafted out of light wood, featuring red pads and a light pink trim, and handles accented with gold hardware. 

Of course, since you’re shelling out the big bucks, the pair of paddles comes protected in a leather monogram cover in the label’s signature brown and tan motif, with the same pink and gold details. 

You won’t be able to play much table tennis without ping pong balls, so Louis Vuitton has thoughtfully included a holder tag that houses four balls, which can be attached to the paddle cover for easy carrying.
