Every year, 13 wounded veterans from the United States and Great Britain join hands to compete in the Simpson Cup—a golf tournament held at some of the sport’s most famed venues—to raise funds for the On Course Foundation, a charity providing long-term benefits for wounded, injured, and sick servicemen.
This year, the event is scheduled to take place on August 30 at the Baltusrol Country Club in Springfield, New Jersey. And in addition to the competition itself, apparel brand MR MA has partnered with creative agency Episode Four to create a powerful fashion statement conveying support for wounded soldiers.
The One-Armed Hoodie, which began as a conversation between the company and Pro Staffer Nick Kimmel, has now become “a sign of fellowship and support” for veteran, amputee golfers taking part in the tournament.
Both golfers and the audience are encouraged to don this custom top in a show of solidarity with, and to raise money for, servicemen who continue to challenge themselves at the sport despite having lost one or more limbs while serving the country.
According to the brand, all proceeds from the sale of the hoodie will go towards the competition, and to fund the manufacturing of more custom golf apparel for golfers with disabilities. Head here for more details.
