Non-fungible tokens (NFT) have seemingly swept every corner of the internet. However, there has always been an air of exclusivity in the digital token community that has barred non-techies from truly understanding what the hype is all about.
Parent company Meta has previously introduced a similar scheme on Instagram and is now looking to seamlessly allow people to share digital tokens across the board with Facebook as well.
The social media platform is allowing users to connect a wallet to their account where they can then choose which token they would like to post. This follows the same procedure when uploading onto Instagram.
Collectibles that have been posted on Facebook will feature a shimmery effect as well as the artist’s details and other information the poster wishes to display, almost acting as a sort of mini gallery on your home feed.
Meta will support digital tokens from the Euretheum, Polygon, and Flow blockchains.
Despite the crash of the NFT market in recent months, Meta still seems interested in pushing for it. Needless to say, digital artists will definitely be getting wider exposure to the peripheral community thanks to Facebook’s wide audience reach.
