McDonald’s Creates Cozy Chicken McNugget-Inspired Boots Called ‘Nuggies’

Watch out, McFlurry—there’s a new literally cool kid on the block. In Australia, where it’s winter now, McDonald’s has unleashed a cozy boot wth tide fans through colder days.
It turns out that, when you’ve run out of ideas, puns are the way to go. Aussie McDonald’s has created ‘Nuggies’, which are a pair of Chicken McNugget-themed footwear inspired by Uggs.
The boots sport a colorway and print reminiscent of crispy nuggets. According to McDonald’s press release, they even have the texture of McNuggets—whatever that means.
And in case you haven’t gotten the wordplay, stitched into the heels is a label spelling out ‘nUggies’.

Completing the theme is the giant sauce tub-like box that the shoes are served in. Altogether, they’re the living, walking proof that McNuggets are great even when cold.
The Nuggies were created for free to be given out to fans. Unfortunately, just like the famous McNugget Szechuan sauce propelled into pop culture by Rick and Morty, these wearable nuggets arrived in an extremely limited count. Some lucky customers managed to walk away in them during a six-hour giveaway on September 6.
