YouTube is taking notes from online educational whizzes like MasterClass, and now wants to officially bring e-learning to its repertoire.
While people are already swarming to the platform to pick up new skills, Google’s video-sharing network is hoping to inject more depth into the learning experience. Come next year, qualified creators will be able to offer up ‘Courses’ that are closer to the structured classes taught by online schools.
Creators can choose to make their lessons free or paid, with YouTube reportedly earning part of the revenue. Insider’s Geoff Weiss says that this cut is 30%.
