These Earbuds Rest On Bones To Convert Vibrations Into Music

Earphones are constantly being redesigned to have a leg up in the market, from solar-powered pairs to sets that can mold to your ears.

As for a company by the name of Haylou, it is setting itself apart by taking the earbuds out of your ears and placing them on your cheekbones. The award-winning PurFree Bone Conduction Headphones are a pair of listening devices that sit next to your ear instead of on top or inside.

This technology converts mechanical vibrations into music, turning your cheekbones into a conductor for sound waves.

A Qualcomm 3044 chip powers the headphones to let users listen to music and take calls for up to 10 hours. In addition, the company states that a “high-precision bone conduction transducer and anti-leakage technology” have been employed to prevent sound from escaping.

While the sound quality may not be as excellent as with all bone-conductor earphones, the brand is offering up the promise of a healthier and cleaner alternative to the traditional earpiece and at a price lower than others in the market.

It is also being touted as incredibly sturdy, with an IP67 rating making it the perfect companion for workouts. 

The PurFree Bone Conduction Headphones can be purchased on Amazon. They are currently retailing for US$120.
