Gucci To Revive Men’s Fashion Week, Ditches Co-Ed Runway Shows
After years of co-ed runway shows, it appears that standalone men’s fashion shows are making a comeback, with Gucci following in the footsteps of Versace and Givenchy in bringing back men’s-only events.
While the brand hadn’t completely ditched its male audience, it only presented special runway shows at Milan Fashion Week, which will make this comeback the first time it’s putting on a full display in over two years.
The Maison will make a return to the men’s stage in the Italian city next year, where Alessandro Michele will showcase the brand’s latest menswear collection, with Gucci President Marco Bizzarri revealing the Creative Director wanted to “put a strong emphasis” on the men’s collection.
Interestingly, as WWD pointed out, Michele first made a splash on the scene when he unveiled a menswear runway in January 2015, so this return to his roots could be an exciting one for fans of the luxury fashion house.
