Tallest Building In The EU Opens With Garden Vantage Point At Its Crown

The tallest building in the European Union has just been opened for business, and it stands at a proud 1,017 feet in the center of Warsaw, Poland.
 
The Varso Tower, created by the architectural firm Foster + Partners, towers over the 849-foot Commerzbank Tower in Frankfurt, the previous record-holder which was also built by the same company.

Varso Tower is a three-tiered building that reaches its highest point with the help of a 262-foot-tall spire. It has 53 stories and an internal area of 753,000 square feet of office space for HB Reavis and other local and international corporations.
 
The structure also houses restaurants and retail spaces for the public. In addition, a rooftop garden springs to life on one of its upper floors for office workers to hang out during their breaks. This garden will have 16 trees, breaking the country’s highest park record.

A separate public viewing deck on the 53rd floor was also opened for Warsaw’s citizens and tourists to head up to and take panoramic views of the city.
 
An “urban room” at its center acts as a transitional space between the tower and its surrounding areas. 

The building was brought to life by engineering company Buro Happold and construction firm Epstein after it was first announced in 2017.
