Tesla Recalls ‘Cyberquad’ For Kids Due To Ongoing Safety Concerns

Last December, Tesla launched the kids’ edition of its highly-anticipated Cybertruck: the Cyberquad. 

Selling for a whopping US$1,900, younger ones could experience the joys of riding on a four-wheel ATV, complete with cushioned seating, adjustable suspension, LED light bars, and rear disk braking. 

However, the automaker has now issued a recall for the product, due to safety concerns brought up by the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). In total, about 5,000 units of the mini vehicle had been sold. 

The agency noted that the mechanical suspension and maximum tire pressure of the Cyberquad weren’t adequate and lacked an approved ATV action plan required to build, import, or sell such vehicles in the United States. 

Customers who’ve purchased the product will receive full refunds upon mailing the Cyberquad’s motor controller back to Radio Flyer, the firm that manufactured the product for Tesla. 

While the ATV is no longer available for purchase on its website, kids can still get their very own mini Model S and Model Y cars.
