‘Mood’ Watch Blooms Into A Rainbow Of Colors As Body Temperature Changes
Watch company Urwerk has designed the timepiece answer to mood rings with a piece of reactive tech candy that incorporates human physiology.
‘Reloaded’, the name of the piece, was designed by artist Cooper Jacoby and features a color-changing wheel that responds to the heat of the body. Embedded into its face are thermochromic pigments that enable it to spring into a rainbow of various hues when body heat comes into play.
These colors shine brightly against its black chrome 41mm case and matching fabric band.
The timepiece does not sport a traditional face, and instead is fronted by a tiny sliver that can be seen at the top half of the watch.
The one-of-a-kind creation will be sold through an auction at the upcoming TimeForArt event held in early December by the Swiss Institute of New York, which will donate proceeds to contemporary, up-and-coming artists.
Other brands going under the hammer at the benefit include Chopard, Laurent Ferrier, Ralph Lauren, and Speake-Marin.
