We’re just weeks away from the World Cup, and to celebrate one of the world’s most popular sporting events, Hublot has launched a new experience for fans of the beautiful game: a soccer stadium in the metaverse.
The Hublot LovesFootball Metaverse Stadium, which has now snagged the title of the largest virtual venue, can hold up to 90,000 spectators, and features a kilometer-long (0.6 miles) concourse with a special media wall for visitors to explore.
According to theOfficial Timekeeper of the World Cup, the event space was designed to include a mix of sport, art, and digital events, with its structure inspired by the intricate design of the watchmaker’s recently launched Big Bang e timepiece.
Hublot partnered with MEIS architects, the minds behind Everton FC and Roma stadiums, to design the stadium, mirroring the company’s “storied history of introducing new dimensions of design to new audiences.”
The general public will be able to take a 360-degree tour of the stadium for free just by using their mobile phones or desktops via Spatial, a Web3 platform that took part in developing the 3D space.
“At its core, the metaverse represents a new dimension for creativity, innovation, and inclusion. We channeled that vision into a unique immersive experience where people from all over the world can come together and celebrate the world’s game,” says Jinha Lee, Co-Founder of Spatial.
