‘Hyperrealism’ Exhibition Invites Visitors To View Sculptures In The Nude Again
Many in the art world will be familiar with Hyperrealism. This Is Not A Body, an ongoing exhibition famed for drawing in crowds with over two dozen incredibly lifelike sculptures, many showcased in the nude.
The show, which features 30 hyperrealistic works sculpted by 26 international artists, focuses on the “development of the human figure” in the art form over the last 50 years. Five different key areas are highlighted, displaying how the way we see our bodies change over the decades.
Now on its 13th stop in six years at the Museé Maillol in Paris, the show is yet again inviting visitors to roam the exhibit, and get up close and personal with the statues while in the buff during special time slots.
In fact, this cheeky invitation, created in partnership with the French Federation of Naturism, expects at least 800 guests to view this chapter of the show entirely naked on November 10, 11, and 17, 2022.
As per Artnet News, this isn’t the first time the sculptures will welcome disrobed sightseers, as previous exhibitions in Liège and Lyon have held similar all-nude events. Paris was none the shier, with the museum reporting that all nudist slots “sold out in record time.”
