2023 Graphic Design Trends Marry Familiar Favorites With Escapism

In the blink of an eye, 2023 will be right around the corner. As rapidly contorting cultural and world affairs shape the creative sphere, graphic design service 99designs by Vista has issued its predicted visual trends for 2023 that are set to tell an incredible tale of resilience and rebellion.
 
Last year’s trends featured uplifting and optimistic style traits. While that positivity remains an undercurrent to these predictions, the rising cost of living, political instability, and war have definitely caused a ripple in the pool of art and design.
 
Escapism will likely be a theme in 2023’s aesthetics, whether it’s a yearning for something magical, with the rise of mysticism and surrealism; or a desire to return to the comfort that came with life in the aughts, visualized in Punk and 90s space psychedelia.

The predictions depict a hodgepodge of ethereal imagery with more jewel-toned hues, block-colored creations, quirky art styles, and bold fonts that capture the capricious nature of living through multiple world events.
 
These trends represent a boldness and a hunger for change as the world evolves. The bright colors, spirited typography, and otherworldly imagery are all underlined with a longing to escape reality for a moment and dive into the comforts of creativity.
