Facebook is eliminating the option to get rid of personal information displayed on a user’s profile, which will take effect on December 1.

Social media analyst Matt Navarra first spotted the change when he noticed that profiles on the platform were missing the usual ‘interested in’ field.

Emil Vasquez, a spokesperson from the company, confirmed the update to Gizmodo and stated that Facebook was getting rid of that section of the profile entirely, removing the option to state not only your religious and political views but also your sexual orientation and address.

Vasquez noted that this move was purely to streamline the platform’s interface and make it easier for people to navigate. It should also be mentioned that the action is not to stifle people’s beliefs and views, and that the change will not affect the ability to share this information elsewhere on Facebook.
