Insurance conglomerate State Farm previously introduced audiences to one of its most iconic characters, Jake, who, like a good neighbor, wants to always be there in the same way insurance is there to cover people’s backs in times of need. Earlier this year, the insurance company added equipment manager Jeff, who moonlights as a jazz musician, to its lore.
The advertisement saw Jeff crooning away at his saxophone to sultry beats as famous quarterback Patrick Mahomes prepared for a nice soak in a tub by dropping in some bath bombs, as one does.
Jeff, like Jake, was a hit among its customers, and many responded that they, too, would like to be serenaded in a jazzy bathtime just like Mahomes had.
In response, the company has issued an entire CD, in collaboration with The Marketing Arm, entitled Jazz Bath: The Bath Bomb Sessionsfor fans to indulge in some R&R. The disc includes songs such as Who’s ready for a Jazz Bath? and I’m Not Crying (There’s Soap In My Eyes).
The CD is up for grabs while supplies last, but if you’re not prepared for the return of physical media, you can always stream it on Spotify. State Farm has also issued a hotline, 1-866-JAZZ-BATH, for customers to call in if they’re unsure which track to listen to or need some advice. With each call, a song will play for them as well.
The marketing move builds upon the success of its previous character Jake who took off as a meme in the early 2010s and has since spawned in the metaverse and other video games as a much-loved pop-culture figure.
