Advertising aficionados and blockbuster buffs alike will delight at the latest perk to come with an Apple TV+ subscription: Ryan Reynolds+.
That’s the new, high-tech feature that Reynolds is touting—albeit begrudgingly—in a mock Cyber Monday deal that’s really a pitch for Spirited, his new holiday musical film that he co-produces with Will Ferrell.
“So many people are loving Spirited that Apple TV+ decided to have a #CyberMonday offer,” the actor explains. “Unfortunately for me, the offer is me.”
Reynolds’ co-stars Ferrell and Octavia Spencer are seen hyping him up as though he were an iPhone in an Apple commercial.
The new Ryan Reynolds+, they explain, has a profound complexity in the eyes. He also has three times the emotional range, and is loaded with five songs and four dances.
The pair disclaim that the Ryan Reynolds+ has undergone a few “bug fixes,” including a beard to conceal parts of his face and lifted eye bags.

To quote Apple’s keynote vocabulary, this Ryan Reynolds is the most updated Ryan Reynolds ever, and the best Ryan Reynolds in the industry.
What developers haven’t taken into account is that Ryan Reynolds+’s amplified emotional capacity probably means that he’s also 3X grumpier. His annoyance gets the best of him at the end, when he walks away and snaps at his audience to just watch Spirited.
The film, directed by Sean Anders, who co-wrote the plot with John Morris, is a modern-day retelling of A Christmas Carol, with Reynolds playing a reinterpreted Scrooge. Only, for him, the Christmas ghosts (of which Ferrell plays Present) don’t believe he has redeeming qualities.
Spirited had a theatrical release on November 11, but it’s now streaming for all Apple TV+ subscribers.
