Amazon Alexa Now Lets Children Create Their Own Bedtime Stories

Children can play the heroes or heroines of their own imaginary world every night with Amazon Alexa, which will put the little ones in charge of creating their very own bedtime stories.

Coming exclusively to the Echo Show is ‘Create with Alexa’, which aims to elevate bedtime routines from reading out of old dusty books to letting kids conjure up original adventures chock-filled with colorful characters, worlds, and even a backing musical score.

Caregivers will first have to alert Alexa to start a session by commanding, “Alexa, make a story.” From there, children will be provided with a few prompts to choose from, such as different worlds, the name of their hero, the tone of the tale, and the musical score to go with it.

After which, Alexa will utilize its new and improved conversational and generative AI, which has been trained on written stories, to construct a unique and cohesive tale befitting of your little budding author.

Amazon has also cleared it as being safe for children. Eshan Bhatnagar, head of product for Alexa AI, states, “We have multiple guardrails such as content filtering and curated prompts to ensure this experience is both delightful and safe.”
 
The new feature is currently only available in English, and families will soon be able to share their kids’ creations with others.
