‘Longest Ad’ Pours Into Sidewalks, Portraying The Dread Of Long COVID
With long COVID, you might often feel like the symptoms will never leave your body—the aftermath sticks with you even as the world moves on from the pandemic. A new set of posters sheds light on the lives of those struggling with the disease’s long-term effects; they, too, leave a trail that goes on and on and on.
Produced by advertising studio The Leith Agency for the Covid Aid foundation, the poignant print campaign at bus stops extends out of its displays and down the length of the pavement.
The dramatically-extended poster is an essay detailing a day in the changed life of a woman named Amy as she grapples with the tolls brought on by COVID-19.
Covid Aid aims to bring onlookers’ attention to how tedious and relentless long COVID can be with the sheer physical length of the campaign. Just looking at the display can incite a vague feeling of tiredness at the thought of reading Amy’s story.
According to Covid Aid, around two million people in the UK are still dealing with post-COVID effects. Other issues brought on by the pandemic that has since gripped society include grief and other pandemic-related trauma.
Covid Aid is a charity that offers counseling, self-management courses, and peer groups for those with the condition or for people who have lost loved ones to the respiratory disease.
