Tattoo Shop Gives ‘YEEZY Come YEEZY Go’ Service To Erase Kanye West Art For Free
Kanye West has been in the press lately for all the wrong reasons. Whether sporting a ‘White Lives Matter’ shirt, touting the greatness of Adolf Hitler and his genocidal reign, or stating that slavery is a “choice,” the rapper has given many fans a reason to remove his music and his face from their lives. All this culminated into mass boycotts by prominent partners like Adidas.
Unfortunately for some superfans who were caught up in the heyday of his Graduation and 808s & Heartbreaks albums, that love has often manifested itself into tattoos of West. These homages once represented the artist and the power of his creative forces but now serve as a reminder of his derogatory beliefs.
A tattoo parlor in London called NAAMA says it will now take in ex-Kanye West fans and give them a second chance by providing free “YEEZY come, YEEZY go” laser removal services.
The process involves intense pulses of laser light to break the tattoo ink up. The immune system then washes away the ink, says NAAMA.
Three people have already begun their sessions to rid their bodies of West’s mug, while another 10 have booked their appointments. However, the program is only available to UK residents.
The move from the parlor comes out of its ‘Second Chances’ program, initially set up to remove gang signs, hate symbols, and other traumatic work from clients for free. Unfortunately, tattoo removal is notoriously expensive and can cost up to US$3,000, depending on the size and the number of sessions required.
While getting ink of someone you admire can be comforting to some, the future will always remain uncertain, and sometimes you’ll have to watch your heroes fall from grace.
