This Phone Is The First With A Pop-Out Portrait Camera For A True Bokeh Effect

In the smartphone sphere, it’s easy to say that the market has become oversaturated over the last few years. Tech companies have zoned in on perfecting what sells. Unfortunately, the public has yet to begin adopting the more innovative options.
 
That doesn’t mean there hasn’t been room for creativity. One such company is setting itself apart from the rest with the first-ever retractable camera lens seen on the phone.
 
TECNO Mobile, a Chinese tech company, has just released its latest Phantom X2 Pro. The phone houses two cameras and a pop-up portrait one. The portrait camera has a 50-megapixel lens, a 65mm focal length, and a large aperture (f 1.49).

The lens extends itself outwards when in use and then retracts once the user has finished taking their pictures.

The setup enables the phone to snap portrait shots with true bokeh day and night. The device also has a shallow depth field that keeps subjects relatively sharp.
 
In terms of its other specs, it is powered by a Mediatek 9000 processor, has 45-watt fast charging, and has 5G capabilities.
 
Another exciting element of the phone is that its hardware is made up of plastic retrieved from the Indian Ocean.
 
The X2 is set to go on sale in the next few weeks, with an initial release in Saudi Arabia. It will retail for Saudi riyal 3,500 (US$930).
