While Bernard Arnaultbriefly overtook Elon Musk as the wealthiest man on the planet, it seems other members of his family have been busy, too.
Antoine Arnault, the billionaire’s eldest son, has officially taken over the helm of Christian Dior SE, the holding company that the family uses to oversee the LVMH fashion empire.
The 45-year-old is replacing former CEO Sidney Toledano, and speculations have arisen that this move could offer insight into the succession plan Bernard Arnault has laid out.
According to Reuters, all of the mogul’s five children hold senior positions in LVMH, which deals in everything from luxury fashion brands Louis Vuitton and Christian Dior to selling its own champagne and launching five-star hotels.
Having worked for the past decade as the CEO of the leather shoe brand Berluti, and as the Chairman of Loro Piana, Antoine will retain those positions alongside his new role at Christian Dior SE.
For now, there are no signs Bernard Arnault will be stepping down from his role as head of the family business anytime soon, but this promotion could certainly be a clue as to which direction the company may go in the future.
