With cryptocurrencies hitting a plateau after a successful streak last year, many enthusiasts are now turning to physical crypto wallets to hold their assets where they would be deemed most secure: offline. Despite the market crashing, there has never been a better time to provide people with an alternative to using centralized exchanges for storage.
The latest entrance to this growing trend in the market is French-based Ledger’s Stax Crypto Wallet, a stackable device made to keep your investments safe. The wallet was created by Layer and the original designer for Apple’s iPod, Tony Fadell.
The Stax can hold up to 5,000 different crypto coins and runs off of Ledger’s proprietary operating system, which is backed by the Secure Element chip.
Fadell’s involvement with the product might be the reason behind its sleek form factor that is topped off with a curved edge which wraps around the wallet’s spine.
In addition, it uses an e-ink screen which allows for intuitive touch interaction, and an always-on display screen where holders can customize to display their favorite non-fungible token (NFT) in grayscale.
As the name suggests, it has been built to allow the stacking of multiple wallets through a series of magnets embedded into its body. Users can spread their portfolio across different devices and label each of them on the spine of the device.
