Oppo Teases Pebble-Like Health Monitor To Give You Routine Checkups At Home

Health is wealth, so they say. And to keep yourself healthy all the time, regular checkups are highly advised. Unfortunately, with how busy most people are, sometimes such priorities can be pushed to the back of one’s mind. Oppo is saying no to this notion as it places the ability to screen yourself regularly in the hands of the consumer.
 
Its latest concept design is a pebble or mouse-shaped device that could potentially check your temperature, ECG, blood oxygen rate, lungs, and sleeping patterns all at once.
 

It was first announced during the company’s Inno Day when Oppo unveiled other new tech. The ‘OHealth H1’, in particular, is a compact gadget that does not need a phone to be linked to and can give you multiple different readings directly from it.

How it works is that it utilizes sensors embedded into it to conduct the readings. Oppo states that it uses a large stainless steel electrode to check ECG stats. You can also monitor blood oxygen levels from your fingertips instead of on your wrists like smartwatches do.

Additionally, you can press the device to your chest to read your heart and lung auscultation. Oppo plans to use a proprietary physiolectric ceramic sensor that would work a little similarly to a stethoscope.

 
If you want to measure your temperature, you can rest the H1 to your forehead too. Lastly, it can pick up on your breathing, heartbeat, and body movements through vibrations on your bed to monitor your sleep.

From the demo video, it seems like the H1 could potentially store all of this information on an app that would give more in-depth analysis and eventually might even be shared with healthcare providers.
 
As of now, the company hasn’t confirmed if this handheld health tool will one day hit the market.
